As of 2006.07.05, instructors are being sought to copy-and-edit the lesson plan for additions to the syllabus.

The goal of the training is to provide the student with demonstrated ability to effectively use a computer from self-sufficient setup to ability to seek and interpret references for effective addition of new capabilities. At the end of the course, the student should be accurately confident of their ability to buy a computer, install the student's choice of linux distro, and begin using it immediately for the student's chosen uses.

MDLUG is seeking qualified teachers. Teachers will be qualified by proven ability to use the lesson plans and demonstrated effectiveness in the classroom. To apply as a teacher candidate, submit to the webmaster for approval, at least two lesson plans compliant with the template. At least one of these lesson plans must be an original work (formatted by copy-and-edit from the template). Other submissions may be reformatted from sources that permit unencumbered inclusion in commercial as well as non-profit collections.

As a work in progress, candidate teachers should sumbit comments on the lesson plan template to the webmaster.
