Mat: DSL ? discussion about ? can you have 2 modems on one DSL line? 
We looked at the modems
Gary needed a cable built.
Gary's music selection prompted a recollection of the Animal House movie. 
Gary has a Canon printer ? looking for a driver.
Printer ink cartridge LazerMonks.com ? original or refills. Half price. Where are they located? Wisconsin.
Mary: want an external hard drive and want it to automatically mount.
Gary: Who has email working? Ray: Most allow web based email.
Drew and Dr. Bob worked on Drew's idea to get data from his vehicle.
Ray: Mark Shuttleworth live video at mug.org meeting discussed. Sound quality was poor.
Mary and Mat said Ubuntu doesn't allow root access. Opposite of Linspire. 
Linspire and Zandros have digital rights. 
Mary: Samba question about the daemons. smbd running do you still need a master server? They fight.
Mat: can you set up samba to share high level read access but still protect individual directories to specific user. Want users to be able to save their data from many computers. FreeNas distro that allows access to drive using multiple protocols. 
Microcenter has 1 gig DDR2 memory for $40.
Gary's printer started responding when he used the newly built cable.
Video on Librarian.net showed a librarian who installed Ubuntu on two donated computers in an hour.
Mary: Fedora Core 6 couldn't get it to work with her wireless.
Mat: remembers working a long time trying to get Mary's laptop to connect at Panera Bread.
Gib: microcenter has 500gb drives for $150. Why would anyone what to buy 100mg? Windows flaw unless you have ata133 controller. 
Micon will allow you to install used memory to test it before you buy. Micon is on Merriman south of I96 on the East side.
Webmin tool is great for installing software. Version1.3.0 is good. Prior version had a buffer overload problem. Has great samba tutorial. 
Mary: Ubuntu 7.0.4 Fiesty Fawn install of ZynAddsubfx synthesyszer installed without problem.
Gib: my wireless drops at times. Ray try kinternet.
