Minutes of the meeting of MDLUG on Saturday, 13 January 2007 ----------------------------------------------------------- The elections were held. Ray McLaughlin, the President, conducted the nomination and voting. No proxy votes had been recieved, so all voting was done by show-of-hands of those present. For president, Ray McLaughlin ran unopposed. He was unanomously elected. For Vice President, Pat Baker ran unopposed. He was unanomously elected. For secretary, Carl T. Miller stated that he would rather someone else took the position afer he was nomunated. Gibson Nichols ran unopposed. He was unanomously elected. For treasurer, Carl T. Miller accepted the nomunation after being reassured that the treasurer doesn't need to be anything. He ran unopposed. He was unanomously elected. The caterer (Ray) indicated that we had $20 cash and about $20-$30 of pop and stuff. We have a stack of Doretos: "that arn't getting any newer." It was announced that the lugwash.org group is having an install fest. Peguicon 2007 was discussed. See Penguicon web site. It costs $89 for a suite. Must be purchased through uhack.org: joer@uhack.org. We may gather some folks together and get a suite. Caterer (Ray) said donations are okay. Jeff Hanson gave a presentation - a blow by blow account - of a Windows 2003 r2 install. Vista Ultra was also discussed. Note: Jeff said he is looking for employment. Ray is also looking for employment. Dr. Bob has been looking as well. Ray told us about the new server install. From September - transistion 2 computers - to Mid November. Archive is not available. Then 3 weeks after the install the old systems died (good timing Ray). There was some concern about the room being booked for next month (Feb 2007). That concern has been resolved The Feb 2007 meeting will take place as usual.
