The presentation went first this month with Raymond Day giving an excellent rpesentation on his home built server. He built it from the sheetmetal up utilizing a Zapstation Motherboard. ******************************************************************************************************************* The first ever Installfest Put on by MUG (Michigan Users Group) was announced. First MUG Install Fest Linux Install Fest - Saturday, April 16th Oakland University 200 Dodge Hall Rochester, MI 48326 PARK IN LOT #36 When: 10:00am until 2:00pm We'll have: * Ubuntu, SuSE, Fedora, Debian, Slackware, Mandrake, Knoppix, LTSP and more available. You pick what you want installed. * No need to bring a heavy monitor, mouse or keyboard. Just bring your box, we'll provide everything else. * Free wireless access for the duration of the installfest. * Bathroom faciliites and soda machines available. Conveniently located close to many restaurants ******************************************************************************************************************** The next meeting of the DCG was announced and a plea for attendees was made. The DCG Computer Club meets every first and third Wednesday of the month at the Taylor Public Library at 12301 Pardee Rd. In Taylor Michigan, USA. Meeting time is 7:00 pm and meetings run 2 hours. ******************************************************************************************************************** There was discussion about the O'REILLY offer of books for a review. If you would like an O'REILLY book to do a review of please contact Ray McLaughlin MDLUG President. Also if you decide to take O'REILLY up on there offer you shpould plan on hving a review ready in about 3 months. There was also some discussion about the discount available to LUG members there was some discussion of the access code for this discount howver noone could remember for sure Ray was going to check it out. There was also some discussion of the O'REILLY Safari program (which is a pay service allowing access to the content of many books online) and the placing of a link to this service on our website as a possible means of revenue generation as we would be paid a certain percentage of the fee to jion from anyone jioning from the link on our page.
